Frequently asked questions about the TireGrabber industrial tire changer

The TireGrabber offers numerous benefits over traditional methods of handling large tires:

  • Safety: It eliminates the risks associated with using pallet forks, straps and chains, which can be dangerous and lead to injuries.
  • Efficiency: The TireGrabber’s patented design allows for quick and easy mounting, dismounting, and rotation of large tires, saving you valuable time.
  • Cost-effective: By reducing the risk of injuries and equipment damage, and saving time on tire changes, the TireGrabber saves money in the long run.
  • Versatility: The TireGrabber comes in five models (TG3000, TG4000, TG4000R, TG4000XL, TG12000) with varying capacities and tire size ranges, allowing you to choose the one that best suits your needs.

The key differentiator of the TireGrabber is its patented design, but there are many things that set the TireGrabber apart from other large tire handlers on the market. Here are a few of our favourite differentiators:

    1. The 3-point design ensures safe handling. The arms sit at the 4, 8 and 12 o’clock positions on the tire, cradling it and making it easy to move in virtually any direction.
    2. All 3 arms are connected in the back and move as one unit, keeping the tire centred and perfectly balanced over the pivot point, vastly reducing the risk of injury when compared to other methods of moving large-scale tires where you have to worry about the tire shifting or becoming off balance.
    3. The upright pivot allows you to swing the tire sideways, making it easier and faster to get the tire lined up with the hub.
    4. The vertical pivot allows you to pick up the tire from virtually any position, from laying on its side to standing straight up, and makes stacking tires on trailers or on the ground a cinch!

The TireGrabber is engineered to accommodate a diverse range of tire sizes making it suitable for multiple uses. The model for you depends on the size and weight of the tires you need to handle. Consider the following:

  • Measure the diameter of your largest tires.
  • Choose the model that accommodates your tire size range:
    • TG3000/TG4000: 54″ to 89″ (1 372 mm to 2 261 mm) diameter tires that are 3,000/4,000 lbs (1 361/1 814 kg)
    • TG4000R: 34″ to 89″ (864 mm to 2 261 mm) diameter (with reversible teeth for wider range)
    • TG4000XL: 58″ to 95″ (1 473 mm to 2 413 mm) diameter (designed for oversized tires)
    • TG12000: 67″ to 120″ (1 702 mm to 3 048 mm) diameter tires up to 12,000 lbs (5 443 kg)
